You may have heard the story which lies behind this habit :
A woodcutter strained to saw down a tree. A young man who was watching asked “What are you doing?”
“Are you blind?” the woodcutter replied. “I’m cutting down this tree.”
The young man was unabashed. “You look exhausted! Take a break. Sharpen your saw.”
The woodcutter explained to the young man that he had been sawing for hours and did not have time to take a break.
The young man pushed back… “If you sharpen the saw, you would cut down the tree much faster.”

ProactiveThe book “7 habits of highly effective people” by Stephen Covey needs no introduction as even after more than 25 years it is considered to be one of the most influential business management books.

In my opinion Habit #1 – Proactivity is a key habit to be successful in today’s world.

Where you want to go is up to you. Your colleagues, family and friends are a support system, but that is all they cannot succeed for you. Only you can do that. So in reality it’s all about self-mastery, the ability to be proactive and take responsibility for shaping your future and destiny.

Managing Yourself ???

The question which would arise in your mind is what does that mean and how can you do so ?
