Whether we possess the ability to think critically or not is the key element between achieving success or failure in most areas of our lives. In the competitive business world of today possessing the ability to sort out useful details, evaluating sources of information and data, as well researching them provides the base for reaching conclusions. It provides us with the “dots” which when connected can help us to come up with a big picture to reach conclusions, on which to base our decisions.

Our mind is a part of our body, true, but it is the most important part and also the most powerful. We take our mind for granted and we generally believe that we cannot control our thoughts as these come and go without our ability to manage them. Use TIME effectively

A most crucial aspect of our life is our time and how we focus on managing it. If we can learn to master the art of time management, our total life would undergo a very positive change. The centuries old adage ‘ Time is money ‘ is very true, as time once gone never comes back. So, if we are not able to manage our time effectively, very soon we will reach a state of chaos, with our things-to-do lists getting longer and longer and the stress mounting within us.

Most of us are pulled in many directions by the demands of our daily life that our days pass in a flurry of so many things to do. This causes us to be under constant stress and strain trying to keep up with the demands on us. What we should realize is that it is very important to take the pressure off ourselves to prevent a situation from arising which could cause us to suffer exhaustion, burnout or health related issues.

MINDSET – Its influence on our life

The most basic belief we have of ourselves is based on how we consider our personality.  Carol Dweck, a psychologist and expert on mindset, identified two types of mindset, fixed and growth. Those people with a fixed mindset believe that their character, intelligence and other abilities are all givens which cannot be changed and being successful depends on their inbuilt intelligence.  While those with a growth mindset thrive on challenges and accept failure as a facilitator for stretching their abilities and a catalyst for growth and development.

As the pandemic is shaking our global economy and is also disrupting the way we all live, work and conduct our business, many rapid changes are taking place. Trends which had started a few years ago such as telecommuting, telemedicine, online shopping, home delivery services etc are also expanding and increasing very rapidly.  Even in business, possessing the ability to team up and collaborate effectively while being far apart, is very vital for success.
