In all work environments the pressures ebb and flow, during different times of the year, new product launches etc. other activities depending on the business and function you are working in. At times we feel that we are in control of our work and that’s good, but at other times we are lost when unexpected issues, setbacks or pressures from colleague’s absence may cause tensions and stress. It is in such scenarios that if you keep your focus and manage our productivity levels that you can easily come out on top.
Who does not want to be successful ? I am sure you do. We all do so in the different walks of our life, be it our education, jobs, physical fitness, personal lives etc. Not only that, we also link it to our level of happiness. But when we really sit down to assess how to go about it; we tend to back off, as it all seems to involve a lot of work.
However, some latest Harvard research shows us a fun way to do it. The researcher and author of the best seller ‘The happiness advantage’ Shawn Achor demonstrates that success does not bring happiness – but rather the reverse – it is happiness that breeds success. His research focused on those who were out of the norm – the outliers. For example, why, when an entire sales force has low sales numbers there are a few with extraordinarily high numbers. Or, in a class where academic marks are below average, there are a couple of students with outstanding results.
Life is a process of learning. From birth the process begins as we learn to eat, talk, walk, etc etc. If you really think about it you will realize that the process never stops. It is ongoing as we grow, complete our education and begin our career.

“TIME is of the essence” an English proverb which is very true. We have 24 hours in a day, so utilizing it to the maximum is of utmost importance. Be it at work or at home making the most of your time is critical in today’s fast moving world. What alternatives do we have ? There are two ways we can use to increase our productivity – either by putting in longer hours at work or by working smarter. I do not know about your thoughts, but I definitely prefer the latter.
Self-esteem is often described as having confidence in our ability to think and cope with the daily challenges of life. It is also linked to being self assured and confident in ones abilities and having a belief in the fact that you can be successful in whatever you undertake to do.
When a person has a high level of self-esteem, they will trust their actions and their judgment and by doing so they will be in a better position to make good decisions and create a better life for themselves.
