Dealing with everyday stresses have become a part of life these days. Especially since the Covid pandemic started more than a couple of years ago, life has changed. Working from home started and with it the uncertainty of job security, growing cost of living, family pressures etc. The rising bills which keep increasing, the work pressures which keep escalating and the family commitments and responsibilities which become increasingly demanding. These and other related factors sometimes cause our stress levels to skyrocket and become unmanageable.
Whether we possess the ability to think critically or not is the key element between achieving success or failure in most areas of our lives. In the competitive business world of today possessing the ability to sort out useful details, evaluating sources of information and data, as well researching them provides the base for reaching conclusions. It provides us with the “dots” which when connected can help us to come up with a big picture to reach conclusions, on which to base our decisions.
Our life and what we make of it, depends on our approach and thinking towards it. If our thinking is positive, we focus our mental attitude on the good aspects of life and expect that the results will be beneficial to us. Our expectations are that we will reap success, obtain happiness, enjoy good health and be successful in whatever we do.
We all want to live a life which is full of purpose and fulfillment. What would that mean for most of us ? It would mean that we make the best of our lives, live it most effectively and to the fullest. We all strive to make the most of our opportunities and also the best use of our resources. For most of us it may also mean living and working to reach our full potential. There are so many possibilities open to us and many opportunities as well but it is up to us to identify the best options and make the most of them.
Our mind is a part of our body, true, but it is the most important part and also the most powerful. We take our mind for granted and we generally believe that we cannot control our thoughts as these come and go without our ability to manage them. But have we ever thought about the fact that we can actually control our thoughts and in fact we become what we think about?
Life is tough and from time to time we all hit a rough patch when we feel that the problems, we are facing are closing in on us. The feelings we confront may make us uneasy and the perception that the world is closing in on us may lead to a struggle to finding a way out. But we should not forget that there is always hope and we only need to find the way out.
A most crucial aspect of our life is our time and how we focus on managing it. If we can learn to master the art of time management, our total life would undergo a very positive change. The centuries old adage ‘ Time is money ‘ is very true, as time once gone never comes back. So, if we are not able to manage our time effectively, very soon we will reach a state of chaos, with our things-to-do lists getting longer and longer and the stress mounting within us.
Whenever we are faced with a difficult situation, how well do we manage to cope with it ? It all depends on our ability to accept the circumstances and adapt ourselves, managing the trauma or the sources of the stress and also our capabilities and skills which may support us and let us bounce back. The ability to recover and overcome the situation is a very valuable skill which is extremely useful in these difficult times.
