What is life and are we getting what we want from it ? This is a question which may bother many of us. Of course the existence of living things is one aspect. But other dictionary meanings say that life is a verve, energy, excitement, sparkle etc. so the question may arise whether we are getting those things from our lives and are we satisfied with what we are achieving. Going further we could also say that it is the sum of the ideals we impose on it, or what we demand of it to be happy and fulfilled.
Most of us are pulled in many directions by the demands of our daily life that our days pass in a flurry of so many things to do. This causes us to be under constant stress and strain trying to keep up with the demands on us. What we should realize is that it is very important to take the pressure off ourselves to prevent a situation from arising which could cause us to suffer exhaustion, burnout or health related issues.
We all want to be successful in our lives, some achieve success and others do not, but the strategy that works best for you depends on how you view and define success itself. For most people professional accomplishments are a major part of being successful but some other important areas of our life including a successful relationship, academic achievements, sports or other activities are also key areas where most people strive to achieve.
Reaching out to people is a skill which is essential for a competent leader. It is empathy which enables a person to know whether they have been successful in their efforts. It is also the ability to emotionally connect and understand what another person is feeling, see things from their perspective and put yourself in their position to feel what they maybe feeling. Empathy allows a person to know whether they have been successful in connecting with the person they are reaching out to.
The most basic belief we have of ourselves is based on how we consider our personality. Carol Dweck, a psychologist and expert on mindset, identified two types of mindset, fixed and growth. Those people with a fixed mindset believe that their character, intelligence and other abilities are all givens which cannot be changed and being successful depends on their inbuilt intelligence. While those with a growth mindset thrive on challenges and accept failure as a facilitator for stretching their abilities and a catalyst for growth and development.
Possessing the ability to believe in yourself can be a game changer and play a leading role in changing your life. If you seriously thing about it, you will realize that having confidence and faith in one’s abilities to achieve ones aims makes a big difference to the success ratio of your life. Most people start their careers with little self confidence and it is with time and effort that they manage to gain confidence, become more outgoing, poised and even bolder.

Research shows us that people can influence their own levels of motivation and inspiration, as it is a crucial element which is required to attain ones objectives in life. There are different sources of motivation and often people have multiple reasons for adopting any behaviour..
Do you want to achieve success in your career and personal life? If that is true, do you possess the strength and mental toughness to do so ? I am sure that we would all agree to the facts that achieving success is not easy and that over a period of time not being able to achieve what one wants can have an impact on ones physical as well and mental well being.
