What is life and are we getting what we want from it ? This is a question which may bother many of us. Of course the existence of living things is one aspect. But other dictionary meanings say that life is a verve, energy, excitement, sparkle etc. so the question may arise whether we are getting those things from our lives and are we satisfied with what we are achieving. Going further we could also say that it is the sum of the ideals we impose on it, or what we demand of it to be happy and fulfilled.
Has time management become obsolete ? Changing times, new requirements and the stresses of the present era have all contributed to the altering demands on us. There were the days when we had limited access to knowledge and skills as these were expensive and at times even difficult to obtain.
How is it that some people seem to be in control during tough and difficult circumstances, while other seem to be lost and without hope ? It is the inner ability to be tough, face up to difficult odds and with it possess the flexibility to adjust and adapt oneself that gives a person the strength to cope with hardship and stress. Dealing with change is an inevitable part of our lives and the changes or adversities we may be facing these days is a part of the cycle.
We are living in a highly stressful and changing world. The current global crisis is having a major impact on our lives. The uncertainty of the future may make us stop and think – Is it a time for all of us to look inwards, to think about ourselves and our family, to rethink our lifestyles, to examine our priorities in life and really make decisions on what we need to do for the future?
We are all going through tough times with rising cost of living, job insecurity and other stresses on our lives. All these factors put a strain on our health and also our personal relationships at home. However, just because you are facing problems in life and maybe feeling down and out does not mean that you become a cynic and adopt a pessimist attitude towards life.
Having a positive mindset gives us more confidence and also helps to improve our mood. The upside to this is that it helps us enjoy better health and prevents the likelihood of developing any stress related disorders. The physical and mental benefits of positive thinking have been proven in many scientific studies. Those people who are optimistic enough to see the glass as half-full are certainly happier than those who are taking a pessimistic view of the world and see the glass as half empty.
So, learning to think positively is definitely worthwhile.
Being optimistic is one of the most valuable traits that you can develop within yourself and it is a quality that will help you to live a happier life and in fact be a better liked person within your organization and even in your personal life. It is also a very important attitude to maintain when you are going through a tough patch or when you are up to facing difficult challenges.
Of course it is sometimes very difficult to remain optimistic when it feels like the whole world is crashing down around you, but if you can do it then you will be sure to reap the rewards.
